Cline

Connect the Cline extension in VS Code and other editors to NoviaHub with the OpenAI Compatible provider — install, configure and choose a model.

Cline is an AI coding agent (“Your AI-powered agent for complex work”) that runs as an extension in VS Code, JetBrains IDEs and other editors, and also comes as a CLI and a desktop app. Its OpenAI Compatible provider accepts a custom API address, which is how you connect it to NoviaHub.

Prerequisites

Section titled “Prerequisites”
  • A NoviaHub API key (see API Keys) and some balance (see Wallet and top-ups).
  • VS Code (or a compatible editor such as Cursor, Windsurf or VSCodium), or a JetBrains IDE.

Install

Section titled “Install”
  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+X (Cmd+Shift+X on macOS) to open Extensions.
  2. Search for Cline and click Install. The official extension ID is saoudrizwan.claude-dev; check the publisher before installing.

This page covers the editor extension only.

Configure NoviaHub

Section titled “Configure NoviaHub”

  1. Open the Cline panel and click its settings icon (⚙️).

  2. Set API Provider to OpenAI Compatible.

  3. Fill in:

    Field Value
    Base URL https://noviahub.com/v1 (include /v1)
    API Key Your NoviaHub key (starts with sk-)
    Model ID The model to use, for example deepseek-v4-flash

  4. Optional: under Model Configuration, fill in the model’s Context Window, Max Output Tokens and so on; the values are in the model details under Models & Pricing.

  5. When you’re done, go back to the Cline panel.

Verify

Section titled “Verify”

Give Cline a simple task in its panel (for example “Explain what this file does”). A normal reply means it works; then confirm the call under Usage Logs in the NoviaHub console.

Switch models

Section titled “Switch models”

Change Model ID in the settings. It must match the ID on NoviaHub’s model page exactly. Cline stores a separate model choice for Plan mode and Act mode, so the two modes can use different models.

Cline calls models the OpenAI-compatible way. On 2026-09-28 every model on NoviaHub supported the OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions API (endpoint label Chat). Models change; Models & Pricing is authoritative.

Troubleshooting

Section titled “Troubleshooting”

401 Invalid token The key is wrong, or it is disabled, expired or out of quota. Check it on the API Keys page; see API Keys.

503 with No available channel for model ... The Model ID is wrong, or the model is currently unavailable. Compare it with the ID on the model page and remove any extra spaces.

403 insufficient_user_quota Your account balance has run out. Top up first.
